Jesus Loves Me

I just finished The Waiting Child for the second time and it really is one of the best books ever. Throughout the book I found myself teary eyed. The last time I read it, we got the referral call for AnnaClaire as I was reading it. What a difference 1 year and a half makes! As I read it, I am once again amazed at the miracle of adoption. I don't think that will ever change. How God handpicks a child, from half a world away, for our families. I cannot imagine having any other sister in my family. AnnaClaire is perfect for us. I don't even have to imagine having a different sister... because I have AnnaClaire and always will. At 12 years old, I thought the next baby in our family would be a niece/nephew or a 2nd cousin or something... little did I know a year later I would be united with a baby sister of my own. It's hard to believe she has been apart of my life for almost 14 months, now. In some ways it feels like forever... but then in other ways it seems like just yesterday we were at the Civil Affairs office in Changsha when a screaming bundle of love and joy was placed in our arms. Not a day goes by that I don't think about December 11, 2006. It was the day my life changed forever. She has taught me so much in these 14 months. She has taught me what the word love really means. She has taught me what it really means to laugh, to care. I love watching her grow and explore. I love hearing her cute little voice. I love when she sings. This afternoon as Mom lay her down in her crib and shut the door, I hear the sweetest little voice through the wall...
"Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so.
Little one to Him belong
They are weak but he is strong!
Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so!"

You're right, AnnaClaire, Jesus does love you. And so do I.

Emily- you amaze me, and your sweet heart encourages me! Never lose your heart to serve our Savior and your love for adoption. God is and will continue to do great things through your passion for Him. I can't wait to see what He has in store for you! Blessings!
