home sweet home

Charlie (and Mom and Dad) finally came home yesterday afternoon! We were all so excited to see our little man, and he was so excited to see everyone and show off all of the toys that Shriners spoiled him with :) He was in much better spirits than the other days, but obviously in a lot of pain. He ate and slept his best last night (all through the night) which was definitely good, as that was the first time he's really eaten and gotten actual sleep since his surgery. It's going to be a long 6 weeks, so please continue to keep our little man in your prayers. He'll go back to Green*ville in 6 weeks and have his casts changed and we are praying that he will be able to have below the knee casts at that point.

Dad said the hardest part of all of this has been the fact that he went through it all before... by himself. :( I can't even begin to imagine.

He's still his sweet little self and for that we are thankful. He really is amazing and SUCH a little trooper!!

So glad that all is going well - I'm praying for him to be out of pain completely! Thinking of you all and mentally sending some fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, homemade cinnamon rolls..........well, you get the point! I would if I were there!

So glad to know Charlie is home and doing well! We'll be praying for him! Back in 2009 we had lots of castings and new ways to do things with Chayah's cast for her leg (she had a spica that went up her leg and all the way to her belly button). Before long he will be out of the casts!! :)

Wow...what your dad said sure is powerful! So glad to hear that your sweet Charlie is on the mend. Praying for him and asking God to heal his little feet.

Hi! I've been following your family, on and off, for literally years. I remember when you first got Kate. We've adopted a daughter from China in 2008 and then just 4 months ago adopted a little boy. We also have 4 bio kids. Dylan is having an amputation at the G'ville SC Shriners (born without lower leg bones in his left leg)...is that the Shriners your brother was at? I'd love to hear how your experiences were there.
Happy birthday :)
